The White Sox signed Jake Peavy to a two-year twenty-nine million dollar extension, after declining his club option for 22 million dollars. The former Padres ace headed a Chicago staff that had a 4.15 ERA from it's rotation, and saw breakout performances from young pitchers Jose Quintinia and Chris Sale, and needed a solid starter to anchor the rotation. The 31-year old bulldog won a gold glove for the White Sox this season and finished 8th and 9th in strikeouts and ERA in the AL respectively. He really fits in with the current White Sox team and I expect him to continue to dominance unless he gets hurt again. This is a very solid move for new GM Rick Hahn.
